Pregnancy Ultrasound and X Rays
Our veterinarians are able to perform an ultrasound on your dog 25 days after breeding. Ultrasound is the same technology used to generate sonograms during human pregnancy, using sound waves that are transmitted through your pets body to create an image. Ultrasound is perfectly safe for your dog. Ultrasound may not be accurate in counting the number of puppies, but can determine the heartbeat of the puppies. An X-Ray can also be performed to determine pregnancy, we recommend X-Ray 52-55 days after breeding.
